Higgs' Tax Expert Wins Top Finance Award

Article date: 19/05/2017

A tax expert with leading West Midlands' legal firm Higgs & Sons has received The Finance Award at The Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards.

A delighted Adam Rollason said he was surprised but honoured to take the title, and he looked forward to the opportunities that may arise from his success.

BYPY recognises the young professionals of Birmingham's business sector. With awards in areas including finance, law, marketing and technology, the ceremony is a prestigious event on the Birmingham Professional Network's calendar.

Voted as 'one to watch' by the Association of Tax Technicians in 2014, 28 year-old Adam was a clear contender from the very beginning and was thrilled with his achievement.

Adam said: "To even be nominated as making a remarkable contribution to the financial sector is an amazing achievement in itself, but to win The Finance Award is unbelievable. I am incredibly proud."

With more than 10 years' experience in the financial sector, Adam is qualified as both a Chartered Tax Advisor and a Chartered Accountant. He was headhunted by Higgs & Sons in 2015 as a Corporate Tax Advisor and is in the minority of tax advisors to work in a client facing role within the legal industry.

Adam is also part of the OMB technical committee of the Chartered Institute of Tax, as well as being a member of his local Birmingham CIOT committee.

Paul Hunt, Managing Partner of Higgs & Sons, said: "Adam is a committed and talented individual who has made an outstanding contribution not only in our firm but in the wider financial industry.

"We are extremely proud of his achievement and have every faith in his potential to become an exceptional business leader."

Higgs & Sons is one of the Midlands' leading legal firms. A modern, forward thinking practice offering a wide range of legal services, Higgs is proud of its heritage and remains true to its client centred values and commitment to quality.
