'Egg-cellent' results for Higgs' Easter collection
Article date: 13/04/2017
Higgs' colleagues have once again shown their 'eggs-trordinary' generosity after donating 165 Easter eggs to Wolverhampton's Haven refuge.
The eggs were collected as part of the firm's ongoing commitment to supporting the region in which it works through its Community Matters programme. Partner, Tim Jones, Head of Community Matters was delighted at the results of this year's Easter campaign.
"We have worked with the Haven for many years, donating eggs at Easter and presents at Christmas in order to help provide a little extra support to the families who need to access this vital service.
"The Higgs trainees have helped to organise this year's collection which has been taking place over the past three weeks. They have all worked hard and the results certainly do speak for themselves."
Higgs' Community Matters programme supports a range of charities and local organisations. Each year the firm selects a Charity of the Year and in 2017 Higgs is supporting the NSPCC. Fundraising is well underway as the Midlands based firm looks to exceed last year's total of £24,000 raised for the Stroke Association.
Alongside its Charity of the Year, Higgs also supports several other local organisations including local schools as well as its long-term association with the Haven in Wolverhampton which supports women and dependent children who are vulnerable to domestic violence, homelessness and abuse.
Tim Jones concludes:
"We are all looking forward to delivering the eggs to the Haven this weekend. Colleagues have been extremely generous in donating so many eggs - in fact you could say they have 'egg-celled' themselves!"
