Two teams from Higgs & Sons have worked together to support an entrepreneur with the purchase of his next hotel.
Damian Beard, an associate in Higgs' corporate department and Stewart Coles, an associate in the commercial property team worked together to support Talash Hotels' purchase Honiley Court Hotel in Warwickshire.
Built in 1592, originally as a farmhouse and later a public house, Honiley Court has 62 bedrooms, a restaurant, conference facilities and The Boot Inn Pub.
It was the first time that Sanjay Kathuria, managing director, and his brother Ravi, had worked with Higgs. Speaking of his experience, Sanjay said: "I can't praise the team enough. They superseded all my expectations and I would say they were just as good as working with a top London firm."
Talash already has hotels in Coventry, Leamington Spa and Walsall Wood.
Damian and Stewart worked together on the deal, which included buying the business and the property and transferring the current employees into the new business.
"As a firm we're worked hard to build a team which can deliver on a diverse range of projects. In this case, we worked together to cover several areas and we're extremely pleased to have delivered this project for Sanjay. The business has an exciting future and we're looking forward to work with the group in the future."
Higgs was recently named corporate law firm of the year at the Midlands Insider Dealmakers event and, in 2013, the team was ranked as the third most active law firm for corporate deals in the region according to Experian's annual report.
Higgs & Sons is headquartered at the Waterfront Business Park in Brierley Hill. The firm employs more than 200 people, which includes over 100 specialist lawyers.
