Four members of staff who work on reception and in hospitality at Higgs & Sons have each passed their NVQ level 2 in Customer Service after taking a 12-month course run by Dudley College.

Helen Hill, Head of Front of House at Higgs & Sons, said Stephanie Thomas, Sophie Hammond, Claire Rock and Karen Walker were keen to enrol on the Customer Service course offered as part of the firm's continuing education policy.

"To have achieved the qualification, each person will have demonstrated that they have the skills and ability to consistently deliver a good customer service and proved that they have the knowledge and understanding of customer service principles and practices.

"They have also demonstrated that they know of all the services the firm can offer, have key skills such as numeracy and literacy and realise how important it is to project a professional image and positive attitude."

Debbie Thompson, of Dudley College said the four had consistently shown excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and that Higgs had been highly supportive of their work.

"Their success in achieving the qualification shows they have demonstrated they give a positive impression of themselves and the organisation, are excellent at problem-solving, communicate with customers professionally both verbally and non-verbally and develop excellent customer relationships," said Debbie.

Higgs & Sons are based at two locations in the Black Country - Waterfront Business Park in Brierley Hill and Kingswinford. The firm employs more than 200 people, which includes over 100 specialist lawyers.
