Higgs welcomes Bond to employment team
Article date: 06/02/2013
Legal firm Higgs & Sons has welcomed award-winning lawyer Simon Bond to its expanding employment team.
Simon is the Birmingham Law Society's pro bono lawyer of the year for 2012 thanks to his work for Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau where he is a trustee. He joins Higgs after spending six years with Challinors. Prior to this, Simon began his career at Hadens in 1996, before a move to niche corporate finance firm Heatons.
Speaking of his move to Higgs, Simon said: "I am hoping to help build Higgs' excellent reputation for the delivery of legal services and to enhance and develop the reputation of its employment team."
The Higgs employment team has seen a 40 per cent growth in the last two years, with the team now the largest in the Black Country. The team attracts clients from both the Midlands and nationally, and in 2012 welcomed three significant businesses to its growing portfolio of retained clients.
Tim Jones heads the team. He said: "We're delighted to welcome Simon, who brings with him a wealth of experience, which is reflected in the awards he holds. In the last 12 months our team has been undefeated in tribunals when acting for companies and it's great for us to get another highly experienced lawyer to support our work further."
Alongside his work with Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau, Simon is also a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Law Society of England & Wales.
