A trainee solicitor at leading law firm Higgs & Sons is celebrating after achieving a silver prize in the Birmingham Law Society's annual awards for trainee solicitors.
Adam Maguire achieved the second highest overall marks in
examinations and course work while studying for his Legal Practice

annual general meeting on 24 April 2012.
Speaking of his award, Adam said: "This is a great achievement and I'm extremely proud to have received the award.
"I worked extremely hard to achieve my results, so it's fantastic to be recognised by the Birmingham Law Society."
Higgs' graduate trainee programme is one of the best in the region. Many of the firm's existing partners trained with Higgs. Catherine Junor is one such partner and is today the training principal for all new graduates that join the firm each September.
She said: "We pride ourselves on our graduate trainee programme, ensuring that all new trainees gain as wide a legal experience as possible. Adam's achievements will be celebrated across the firm and we're all delighted for him."
As well as his award, Adam has also been elected as the Birmingham Law Society's education and societies representative for BTSS [Birmingham Trainee Solicitors Society]. In this role, he sits on the national committee of the junior lawyer division of the Law Society. In addition, the other trainees at the firm are working hard to make their mark; trainee James Osborne has been elected as the liaison officer for BTSS. Rachel Seaton, another Higgs trainee has been elected to the community development committee of Birmingham Future.
