Article date:  14/08/2009

The largest employment law team in the Black Country is being further strengthened with the appointment of a human resources specialist.

Louise O'Connor joins Higgs & Sons with a wealth of experience gained at law firms and within corporate environments.  Her previous posts have included Organisational Development Business Partner at Trident Housing, HR Officer at Pinsent Masons and Learning and Development specialist at Carillion plc.

At Higgs Louise will support the firm's dedicated HR service team.  The HR service was introduced in 2005 to offer small businesses support across every aspect of employment law.

Higgs' respected employment department is headed by Tim Jones.  The firm has a large client portfolio both regionally and nationally and looks after the needs of both small businesses and large corporate organisations.

Speaking of her move, Louise said: "This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and a firm that is ambitious to achieve even more.  In the current economic climate small businesses need more support than ever before and I'm looking forward to helping to make a difference.  The focus is to enhance the existing service with specialist HR Support and practical training and development solutions.  The dedicated HR service offered by Higgs offers value-for-money and flexibility for employers across the region."

Tim Jones has spearheaded the growth of the department since joining the firm in 2004.  He said: "Our role is the make the life of our clients as easy as possible, to advise them and support them through the life of their business.  Louise will be a great asset to the team."

Higgs & Sons is the largest law firm in the Black Country with offices in Brierley Hill, Stourbridge and Kingswinford.
