Higgs & Sons 16 – 8 DLA Piper 16.07.15

Almost two months had passed since the controversial battle against Shoosmiths and this match proved a much more cordial affair.

Aston Power League provided a different backdrop for this game and it was refreshing to see a female in the starting line-up for DLA Piper; the first time that Higgs has come across such opposition in the BTSS League this season.

Despite not having Rich Bryan in the starting line-up, Higgs made a quick start as Cole quickly fired them in front with a precise finish. Joe then took it in turns with Cole to score and Higgs' lead gradually began to grow. Tim, deputising between the sticks once again, played his part, making a string of smart saves.

DLA Piper made a bit of a comeback after the half-time break, but were never able to get their noses in front as Joe and Cole (otherwise known as 'Joe Cole') stepped up another level. This included an outrageous rabona by Joe, which left DLA's 'keeper in both shock and awe.

Higgs & Sons plundered 16 goals in the end - Pat contributing two and Ben another one - but in reality the gap between the sides could have been more had it not been for DLA's 'keeper. Having Rich in the team would have also helped!
