Applying to Higgs
What We Look For
We don't just look for academic achievement (though that's expected) but for a broad range of skills, extra curricular activities and interests as well. We look for fully rounded personalities and people we would like to work with, during the training contract and beyond.
We want our Trainees to get involved and participate fully in the business. We want people who are confident and at ease in communicating in a number of different situations. We want a lot but then, after all, we expect you to become the future partners of the firm.
We invite a shortlisted group of applicants to join us for our "Grow Your Future" day, where we will get to know more about you and your skills. During the day, you will have an interview with various members of the firm's Trainee Committee and have a chance to meet a few members of the wider Higgs team, including our current trainees - the perfect opportunity to ask what it's really like!
Remember that your application is your opportunity to sell yourself to us. Think about what you have achieved, both academically and otherwise. Tell us what you have gained from those achievements and what skills have you acquired.
Let us know what you have done to develop your knowledge and experience. Tell us about any work experience you have gained, both legal and otherwise. Have you travelled? If so, tell us about it and what you have gained from your travels.
